Thika Foundation

Nature is under threat, worldwide. In the majority of countries populations are rising rapidly, increasingly creating human – wildlife conflicts . Pollution and emissions cause climates to change. Often already sensitive habitats are being overgrazed or inappropriately handled for mining, fishing and deforestation. Poaching ‘for the pot’ is rapidly overtaken by syndicate run commercial poaching and bush meat trade. Change is needed and can be achieved. Carefully avoiding to take on ‘the whole world’, the Thika Foundation wants to contribute to the protection and conservation of tracts of fragile nature and its inhabitants: local communities and the wildlife. The focus lies on Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and Latin America by supporting various existing nature conservation projects. By preference these projects are rooted within individual countries and their local communities. Read our entire vision.
